People First - All Else Follows … with John Philpin

It’s All About You

Show Description

What we talk about

People! Their lives, work, future … but with language that can be understood by all. We aren’t hiding behind acronyms, 5 syllable words and intellectualism to describe the challenges. We come with interviews, stories, cases studies, ideas and most importantly clarity as to what each of us faces - every day - and what we can do about it.

What you can expect

Interviews, Observations, Stories, Answers and Lessons from The Frontlines .., but in human terms. We help you penetrate the impenetrable and recognize that people are too often ‘after thoughts’ - and ask - how do we change that?

Who is it for

You might be a leader in a large corporation, fresh into the work force or with 30 years under your belt. You might be a small business owner, a community leader, an entrepreneur or a concerned citizen. Lost your job to automation? Someone younger? Just been ‘RIF’d’? Again? Cant get that interview? Can’t find the right skills in the ‘talent pool’?

Then you know what I’m talking about.

Show Promo Sentences

Sentence One: Start with a statement that your listeners already believe is true.

I guess I could leave and do my own thing - but really - everybody can’t to that … can they? — You are good at what you do. You feel safe, but you keep wondering how long you have before your job is automated, outsourced, off-shored or you are replaced by a younger person, at half the price. Pulling It All Together

You are a leader in a large corporation, fresh into the work force or with 30 years under your belt. Or a small business owner, a community leader, an entrepreneur or a concerned citizen. Whatever it is … you are good at what you do. I worked in Silicon Valley for over 30 years. You only succeed in that environment by continual transformation. Comment:

I love the name! I also have a question…. if you are a small business owner, a community leader, an entrepreneur or a concerned citizen how would you have your job automated, outsourced, off-shored or be replaced by a younger person, at half the price? It feels disconnected and like you may be trying to include everyone under the sun. It seems when we do this, we miss the real target. If you try to include everyone we hit no one. I don’t remember seeing your first go around but I hope this helps.

Thank you - and good thought - I will tighten and attempt to get more clarity in the notes … some thoughts … if your small business is a taxi company - you are about to be automated if you are a restaurant, technology is in the process of disintermediating you from your customer, if you are a small corner store, you will need to differentiate from the superstore on the next road -and it won’t be able to be price, if you are a bookstore, you already know about Amazon, if you are a lawyer - you will have heard of Legal Zoom and know how simple legal services are being provided from The Philipines and Hyderabad, if you are a graphic designer, you will know that Upwork, Fiver et al are in the process of killing your profitability …. etc
