Or, ‘The Selective Shaksper’
… or ‘Billy Wagglestick’ as my English class had it ..
… but there’s a suspicion at this end that if POTUS45 and Co had to declare their relationship to objective reality and declared fiction, it would appear as ‘It’s complicated.’
On the one hand, there’s the decrying by Trump supporters of a Julius Caesar where the power abuser resembles the Orange One. The play, presented here by the well-respected Public Theater of New York, is actually a caution against the voice of the mob and its ability to undermine democracy and its putatively protective institutions, as Public Theater’s Artistic Director eloquently stated.
On the other hand, in a strange two-step of blind egotism and elicited sycophancy, there’s POTUS’s recent cabinet meeting …
or should we say, his own re-enactment of King Lear, Act 1, Scene 1.
And we all know where that went. On the bright side, maybe we’ll see that long-awaited blind trust at last…
… ‘blind’ ‘trust’ … ‘King Lear’ …I see what you did there …
maybe it’s just a stage he’s going through.
i know - it’s not as good.
